Helium is a colourless, odourless and tasteless non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas.

When you inhale Helium, it changes your voice by changing the timbre of your voice but does not change the pitch. It gives you a high voice because that is caused by direct vibration of your vocal chords.

Helium is the 2nd most abundant element in the known universeconstituting 23% of its baryomic mass. Helium is a noble gas because it does notchemically interact with elements.

Dicovered by Pierre Janssen in 1868 while observinga total solar eclipse in India when he noticed the yellow spectral emission lines of the element.

Helium is used as a liftting gas in balloons and airships. It is also used in MRI to cool superconducting magnets. Divers also use a combination of Oxygen and Helium during their dives. The combination gives them the atmosphere necessary to survive at great depths.

Inhaling Helium can be dangerous if done to excess as it displaces oxygen needed for natural respiration.
