Ways of Heat Transfers...

A heat transfer by mass motion of a liquid such as air or water when the fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it. Convection above a hot surface occurs because hot air expands, becomes less dense, and rises.

Convection

Conduction

Process by which heat energy is transmitted through repeated collisions between close by molecules. An example would be a frying pan set over an open stove. The fire's heat causes molecules in the pan to vibrate faster, making it hotter.

Radiation

The emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through space or through a material. Examples of this are electro-magnetic radiation such as radio waves, visible light, x-rays, and gamma radiation.
