Test Glog

Hypothesis: Teens do not recieve enough sleep causing them to face challenges in their daily lives.

The Affects of Sleep On Teens' Daily Lives

The assumptions are made that students are receiving more sleep on the weekends than during the week. And, that the week is when the student is asked to do the most. Therefore, students are not receiving the right amount of sleep for what is required of them during the school week.

Purpose: to describe the affects of inadequate amounts of sleep on teens' daily lives by giving a survey to a random sample of students at Gahanna Lincoln High School ranging from ages 14-19.

RESULTS

*Averages are based on scale of 1-10. (1 is the best and 10 is the worst)

Males ratings when well rested:

Cooperation with others: 5.1Performance in school: 2.5Level of Happiness: 2.8

Males ratings when they are not well rested:

Cooperation with others: 5.2Performance in school: 5.3Level of Happiness: 5.8

On average: 4 stressors affect males sleep, males wake up 0 times during the night and males recieve 6.7 hours of sleep during the week and 9 hours during the weekends.

Females ratings when well rested:

Females ratings when they are not well rested:

Cooperation with others: 2.2Performance in school: 2.6Level of Happiness: 1.9

Cooperation with others: 5.3Performance in school: 6.4Level of Happiness: 5.7

On average: 4 stressors affect females sleep, females wake up 1 time during the night and females recieve 6.9 hours of sleep during the week and 9.2 hours during the weekends.
