CONTEXT CLUES

Bits of information from the text that, when combined with the reader's own knowledge, allow the reader to "read between the lines," figure out the meaning of the text, or determine the meaning of unknown words in the text.

Vocabulary Acquisition is a common means of learning new vocabulary across the curriculum.

Synonyms: a word that means the same as a given word.Antonyms: a word that means the opposite of a given word.

Prefix - is added to the beginning of a base or root word to change its meaning.

Suffix - is added to the end of a base word to change its meaning or part of speech.
