Drunk Driving

Although the numbers have gone down throughout the years, there were still 11,769 deaths in 2009 due to drunk driving in America. This year, even closing off the fourth month there has been 3,707 drunk driving related deaths. In the first week of 2010 there were over 200 deaths. The trend is rising, and this is nothing but a problem.

If someone is drunk, and you can obviously tell, don't let them leave. Don't ride with someone who has been drinking. If you have to leave, call your parents. Sure, they will be mad you're drinking, but they won't be as mad as when you stumble in the door drunk with your keys in your hand, or when they get that phone call from the police that they need to identify your body on the side of the highway. To put a stop to this isn't possible. There is always going to be someone who thinks they can make it home. There is always going to be someone who thinks they aren't drunk. It will never end the problem, but it will help control it a small amount.
