ADVICE ON A GOOD LIFE FROM DAVID, MY ELDER BUDDY

What I enjoyed this semester.

David told me that to live a good life I should respect my parents and follow in their footsteps but I’m not sure if this is true. He also said that I should try as best as I can to follow the Jewish traditions.

Baby Naming

I liked working on this Glogster because I like electronics. I liked going to Orchard Cove because I enjoyed the ride going there. I liked driving past things, pretending to blow up all the red cars. I enjoyed the snacks and pepsi at Orchard Cove.

Why do a baby naming ceremony?

They observe this ceremony to welcome a child into the community. And to honor the new child and the parents. They are saying connecting to the people who came before you is important. People give the baby both a Hebrew name and a name from their own language because for example, if they were in Germany, they would give a German name so the Germans would understand it. They give the baby a taste of wine to give the baby a taste of what it will be like to be a teenager.
