Their Eyes Were Watching God-Hurston

-Zora Neale Hurston-Langston Hughes-Maya Angelou-James Weldon Johnson

Their Eyes Were Watching God is a brilliant story of a woman who learns what love really is through a series of relationships. The novel and filled to the brim with culture and life of young and old black communities, including the first all-black town and life in the Everglades, all centered in Florida. It also explores language distinctions between locations and classes, providing an incredibly important novel.

The incredible autobiography of Maya Angelou captures her life in such great detail. It gives readers a view of what it was like for the famous writer growing up as a Black woman and in a time of great struggle.

This interesting novel is narrated as if the speaker is writing an autobiography, but it is however a fictional story. It brings to question the issues of race and the rights and equality people should have, while also drawing boundaries between class systems. Written by one of the most successful men to ever come from Jacksonville, Florida.
