Test Glog

Graceful and gritty darting around defenders to the net one minute and overpowering them the next. Alex Morgan is a forward for the Orlando Pride and the United States women's national soccer teams and role model for many young girls. To get where she is now, Alex Morgan has had to work very hard.

Basics

College and Youth

Alex Morgan was born on July 2nd, 1989 and lives in Diamond Bar, California. She is twenty-six and is 5'7. As a child Alex juggled many different sports and yet still managed to surpass her peers at her local high school. Alex was on the Cypress Elite fc team for six years and won the Coast Soccer League under-16 championship. She had to leave UC Berkley a semester early because of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Personal Life

Alex Morgan and Servando Carrasco got married on December 31, 2014. The pair met while they were both studying at University California Berkeley. Morgan was given the nickname "Baby Horse" by her teammates on the U.S. women's national team for her speed, running style, and youth. When she isn’t traveling with her either of her team's, Alex and Servando live in Diamond Bar, California.

Alex Morgan still plays for the USWNT team and travels with the team. She trains daily and continues to get better at the sport. Just like Mia Hamm was an inspiration to her, Alex Morgan is one of mine.

Morgan didn't become a starter for the U.S. until the fifth game of the year in January, the final of the Olympic qualifying tournament. She scored twice and provided two assists to Abby Wambach that day and has been a regular starter ever since. Morgan scored 14 goals in a 12-game stretch from January to May 2012. In June 2012, she was nominated for an ESPY Award as the Best Breakthrough Athlete.
