Action Research Glog

Action research is inquiry or research in the context of focused efforts to improve the quality of an organization and its performance. It typically is designed and conducted by practitioners who analyze the data to improve their own practice.(George Mason University, 2005)

In America, socioeconomic status serves as a predictor of academic success. Students who live in poverty are exposed to environmental factors that negatively alter their brain as well as numerous stressors that impact their academic performance (Jensen,2008).Therefore, teachers should determine their students learning style and meet their needs by differentiating instruction.

Four Stages of Action Research1. Clarifying visions and targets2. Articulating Theory3. Implementing Action and Collecting Data4. Reflecting on data and planning informed action.Sagor (2011).

Please view the video below: It is a presentation of my Action Research Project. It examines the action research process and how differentiated instruction can mend the achievement gap.
