What do you think about the book?

Sophie lives a normal life in Congo, when all of a sudden a man with a clearly abused bonobo shows up at her doorstep. She must decide what she will do with this bonobo, now named Otto, and must struggle to survive being forced by the rebels to live in the Congo jungle over the summer.

Sophie and Otto live through the attack, the rebels are gone, Congo is slowly restoring itself with its people. Sophie slowly heals, is now older and more mature, and she reflects on the attack in the end. Sophie and Otto have split, but they are not really seperated. They both live in Congo, settled down, while her father is in the U.S.A.

It's an amazing story, in fact one of the best I have ever read. It kind of relates to me because I have a friend that lives in Africa. It is full of feelings and this was the first time I ever cried when I read a book. Definitely recommended for animal lovers. I came closer to nature reading this book, it's not as scary now, I learned a lot.
