Test Glog

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, he was the first Republican President and led America through its greatest internal crisis, the Civil War.

On September 22nd, 1862, Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This granted freedom to all slaves within Confederate States that did not return to the Union.

On November 19th, 1863 Lincoln gave one of the most famous speeches in Presidential history, the Gettysburg Address.

On December 6th, 1865 the 13th Amendment was adopted.It abolished slavery and involuntary servitude.

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States, the first Republican President, and one of the most important Presidents of American History. Throughout his Presidency, Lincoln remained opposed to slavery.
