San Francisco Earthquake Damage

An Earthquake is shaking of the earth's crust. An earthquake is caused by a break in the rock underground. On April 18th,1906,Wednesday at 5:12 a.m , a one minute earthquake hit the San Fransico area. Instantly, there were about 28,000 buildings destroyed. Fires occured from broken gas lines & stoves that had fallen and broken from the earth shaking. Water mains broke which meant that there was no water for people to drink or bathe. About 700-3,000 people were killed and half of San Fransico's population was left homeless. After a while, there were about 2 tsumanis after the quake.
