•Went to High School, went to Marin Junior College, went to the university of California as a pre-veterinary student, went to San Jos collage and graduated with a degree in occupational therapy, interned at various hospitals in California working with tuberculosis patients, hired as director of occupational therapy department at Kosair Crippled childrens hospital in Louisville Kentucky, Darwin collage at Cambridge, Ph.D.
Early interest in the environment
•Worked at a dude ranch and there she fell in love with animals. Rode horses.
Benefits to the environment
•Helped save gorillas by fighting poachers and encroachment by herds of cattle through unorthodox methods. Some examples are wearing masks to scare poachers, burning snares, spray painting cattle to discourage herders, and confronting poachers directly, which she referred to as “active conservation”
