Honors and Awards •In 1990 Lois was given the Goldman Environment Prize. •She was also awarded “Top Ten Who Made a Difference Honor Roll”. •She won the Heinz Award in 1998. •In 1999 she was given the John Gardner Leadership Award from the independent sector. •Lois was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003. •Lois Gibbs also received a PhD from the State University of New York, Cortland College, and Haverford College in May of 2006.
