How Light Color Effects Plant Growth

Hypothesis

Supplies: - 2 Marigold plants - 1 clear "growth" light bulb - 1 red light combined with a "growth" light bulb - Plant potting trays and soil - No fertilizer will be used

I believe that the marigold without the “growth” light will not grow larger than the marigold with colored light as well as the “growth” light, because the plant with two lights will receive double the nutrients.

Day One-

1. Get both marigolds from the teacher. 2. Add 1 cup of soil. 3. Measure the stems of both plants in centimeters. 4. Record results in data table. 5. Add the lights above the plants 6. Measure Stems of both plants 7. Record data in data table 8.Wash your hands, and clean up your area.

Day Three

1. Measure the stems of both plants. 2. Record results in data table. 3. Wash your hands, and clean up your area.

Day Seven

1. Repeat steps one, two, and three from day three.
