The Holocaust
By: Blake Gladfelter
Buchenwald, 1945. Elie Wiesel is on the second row from the bottom, seventh from the left.
"Selection" in Auschwitz, May/June 1944. To be sent to the right meant slave labor; to the left, the gas chambers. This image shows the arrival of Hungarian Jews, many of them from the Berehov ghetto.
"What can we expect... That's war."
A shockingly real reenactment by the tv series “Band Of Brothers”.
Elie Wiesel discussing his father and life in the camp.
Then the entire camp, block after block, filed past the hanged boy and stared at his extinguished eyes, the tongue hanging from his gaping mouth. The Kapos forced everyone to look him squarely in the face.
