Hope

I had some great lines in my poem “Hope.” I believe that my best line was “She walks with an eccentric beauty.” My second favorite line is “Hope’s long blond hair flows.” Another line that I like is “And the wind biting as foretold.” I enjoy these few lines because they have alliteration or concrete language. I believe that my poem is a work of art.

My favorite poem that I wrote is the poem “Hope.” My poem is about the feeling of Hope as a person. My poem displays Hope as if she was a little girl. I was inspired by the book The Last Olympian in which the last god is the protector of the palace on Mount Olympus. I also was inspired by another book called Sundancer.

When I first wrote this poem, I was having a very hard time writing because I was being distracted by my playful cat. But when my cat went outside for a while, I was able to concentrate, and the words were flowing out of my hands. I did write one draft, but that was only for a few punctuation marks and some adding of elements. I improved some of the alliteration to make the poem more interesting. I added some adjectives also.

Hope By Thatcher Dunsmore Hope’s long blond hair flows As she speaks with you. She believes there is nothing Bad in the world. She wears a light pink shirt With a rainbow painted on. She has bright blue jeans That match her sparkly eyes. She walks with an eccentric beauty. Proudly, head held high in the air. She stands on top of Mount Olympus, Embracing The world, not thinking about the cold And the wind biting as foretold. Hope smiles as she realizes She has brought light To all that are in need.
