How do I register for a Glogster EDU account?

Registration is safe, private, and user-friendly. Select the license of your choice on the product information page. After completing the fast and simple registration steps, you will receive an email with your nickname, password, and login link. Please note that emails from Glogster EDU are sometimes redirected to your spam/junk folder.

If students' accounts have not been created for them they can register here using an EDUcator code provided by their teacher or school. (You must be logged out to access this page).

[Top]

Are students protected from inappropriate content on Glogster EDU?

Yes! With Glogster EDU, the registering teacher monitors the content and accessibility of all student Glogs. Additionally, students can only communicate with other students in their class, and only via Glog comments. Students cannot send private messages.

[Top]

Can students have multiple teachers?

Yes! Our District, School & Faculty Premium Licenses all enable you to house and manage multiple EDUcator accounts together under one administrative umbrella. Students do not need to have multiple accounts for each of their teachers. They can also easily interact with all of the teachers in their virtual school. Our product and pricing information page can be found here.

With our individual teacher licenses (Secondary/Elementary), it is necessary for students to have separate accounts for each teacher. A teacher cannot access private student content that is created under another teacher’s account.

What is an EDUcator/School Code?

An EDUcator/School code is a unique code, generated when you purchase a Glogster EDU license. It is visible in the license box on your dashboard. The code can be used to invite students to your license. This glog shows how students register using your EDUcator code.

Google image search is available for all purchased license users and under the trial license. Free accounts do not have the inbuilt Google search API.

Help! Glogster is not working correctly for me (Technical requirements/Standard checks).

There are some standard checks that we recommend that resolve the majority of issues that are seen with site usage:

- Check here that your flash player version is up to date on your machines as new versions are released fairly regularly.

- If you are in an educational establishment it is possible that you are affected by a firewall. To resolve this the info. here should be passed to your network administrator.

- If the problem is with glog display, you can also check your local flash storage settings: Right click over a glog and then on 'Settings', then on the small folder icon, there is a slider to permit the amount of data that edu.glogengine.com (one of our servers) can store on your machine to assist with glog display. Please increase the amount permitted to 10mb or unlimited.

- If you are finding that your glogs and content are loading slowly please consider lowering the glog rendering(display) quality:

Right click over a glog when opened to full view and change the quality to medium or low.

- Some issues can be resolved by clearing your browser history/cookies/cache, checking that the browser version is up to date or trying a different browser to establish if that is the cause of the issue.

If these steps do not resolve the problem please contact us through the Need Help/Get Help tab on your account dashboard with details of the issue.

No. After you accept the School License invitation, you can no longer create student accounts. The School Administrator adds students which are then available to you to add to classes and assign projects to.

I'm in the EU. How can I purchase?

EU purchasing is now available directly through our product shop. Due to EU regulations, when the billing address of the purchases is listed as being within the EU, VAT (Value Added Tax) must be applied. In some cases, the purchaser may have a VATIN (VAT Identification Number) that exempts that purchaser from paying VAT tax. This may be because the purchaser is a non-profit, a government entity, or because it has certain other tax exemptions or 'write-offs'. Please consult your finance person to check if your organization has a VATIN. If you do, please enter the VATIN prior to purchase. If we can verify the VATIN at the time of purchase, then VAT will not be applied. If we are unable to verify, but you believe your VATIN is valid, please email us at sales@glogster.com.

How do I add pages to a glog or link multiple glogs together?

To link two glogs together:
Create two glogs - 'glog1' and 'glog2' -> copy the URL link for glog2 (available at the top of the page when glog is in full view) > go to glog edit mode in glog1 > select an item on glog1 that you would like to be able to click on to open glog2 > click on the item and then on the small chain link symbol > in the box that opens paste in the URL link that you copied from glog2 > save glog1. When you view glog1 and click on the item glog2 should open.

You can link glogs back and forth and add multiple pages to your glogs. You can also link items on your glog to webpages using this technique.

Is Google image Search included in the Next Gen Glog Editor?

Google image search is available for all purchased license users and under the trial license. Free accounts do not have the inbuilt Google search API.
Gloggers can also easily find and save images using Google image search in another browser. Try saving the images in a folder on the desktop for easy access, and uploading the images using the upload tool, located in the magnet bar.
You can also set up a shared folder, for all of your students to share images that they've found and uploaded. Please refer to your IT administrator for help setting up a shared folder on your network, or try it on your own: Click here for information on a shared network.

Help! My glog will not display, or is slow to load. Glogster is not working correctly for me. (Technical requirements/Standard checks).

Yes. Click on the student's name or their avatar image (NOT on the 'Access student accounts' link) on the 'Students' tab on your dashboard and then on the glog that you wish to add to the class. Once the glog has opened to full view, scroll down and you will see a 'Glog Admin' menu beneath the glog with options to add to a class page. STUDENTS

I am a student but created a teacher’s account.

It is not possible to convert a teacher's account to a student's account or visa-versa.
The normal procedure would be for us to delete your account and then you ask your teacher to create an account for you or to provide you with his/her 'Educator or School code' so that you can register your own account here. (You must be logged out to access this page).

How many student accounts can be registered?

With an EDUcator Free account, up to 10 student accounts can be added. For additional students and to enable student account management please purchase a license which provides sufficient seats for each student to have their own account. This will also enable use of our Premium license features, such as Projects and Class management.

The Secondary Edition allows teachers to add up to 125 student accounts. All students may be added during the initial registration, or accounts can be added later to bring the total number of accounts to the maximum amount. After the initial registration, all changes to registration totals will be managed on your account Dashboard.

The Elementary Edition allows teachers to add up to 30 student accounts. All students may be added during the initial registration, or accounts can be added later to bring the total number of accounts to the maximum amount. After the initial registration, all changes to registration totals will be managed on your account Dashboard.

With our School license, several thousand students can be managed.

Our District license allows for an unlimited number of students.

Again all students may be added during the initial registration, or accounts can be added later to bring the total number of accounts to the maximum amount. Our product and pricing information page can be found here.

Do students need email accounts to register on Glogster EDU?

No. Student safety and privacy are highly valued by Glogster EDU and student email addresses are not required for registration. Students instead register using an EDUcator code provided by their teacher or school. Accounts may also be created for them.

This glog shows how students register using a School/EDUcator code.

How do I delete my students' accounts?

You can delete your old students’ accounts using the ‘Delete’ option next to each student on the ‘Students’ tab on your account dashboard. If you want ALL of your old student accounts deleted please contact us through the 'Need Help/Get Help' tab on your dashboard and we will mass delete all students. Please note that this will also delete any glogs in their accounts and the deleted nicknames cannot be reused for future accounts.

It should also be noted that to enable any student account management at all, including deletion, the students must be set to active.

* Please note that for accounts (Faculty/School) with the newly designed dashboard students can be deleted in bulk using the ‘Mass Action’ button and the ‘Delete’ option. This will delete all 'checked' students on a page but not all in the whole account. *

How do I access my students’ work? How do I view my students’ glogs?

Firstly - for your students’ glogs to be visible please ensure that they are saved as ‘finished’.
The simplest way to view students’ work is to use the Class and Project features so that the glogs will appear all in one place on the project and class pages for viewing and grading.
For help assigning projects to classes detailed instructions can be found in our Set-up guides for teachers and students using Secondary, Elementary and Trial licenses. They are available through this glog

If the students have already created their glogs outside a project you can view their glogs by clicking on their name on your ‘students’ tab and then on the glog you wish to view. Another access route is to use the provided ‘access student’s account’ link. Be sure to return to your own account before attempting to access another student’s account though.

If you wish to gather the glogs together you can use the presentation tool which offers a choice of 3 designs. Instructions can be found here. Please note that when glogs are added to a presentation they are locked from further editing.

Where can I find the login details for my students?

When students accounts are created using the system generated accounts the log in details are sent to the email address your account is registered with and your Glogster messages, on the right side of your account dashboar, in the message 'Glogster Edu new sub-accounts'. You can copy those and paste into another doc that enables printing or just print the email of course.

If the accounts were created using an Excel or CSV upload then the log in details would be according to the document uploaded.

If the accounts were created/registered by the students themselves the passwords will be whatever the students selected during registration.

If the nicknames or passwords are changed after account creation it is necessary to keep a record of the changes made as the original list would not be valid and it is not possible to reproduce with the edited details.

Sometimes the simplest solution is to reset the passwords that are not known using the ‘Change Password’ link provided next to the students on the ‘Students’ tab on your dashboard. Alternatively, you can delete all of the old student accounts and create new ones. Please note though that once a log in nickname has been used you cannot re-use it for another account, even if deleted.

If you would like us to delete your accounts in bulk and provide instructions for creating new student accounts please confirm the log in details for your account so that we are sure we have the correct account before deletion.

* Please note that for accounts (Faculty/School) with the newly designed dashboard students’ passwords can be reset in bulk using the ‘Mass Action’ button and the ‘Change Password’ option.*

I am a student and cannot login/access my account.

I am sorry but we are not permitted to reset log in details for students' accounts as we have no way to verify that the account belongs to you. Please ask your teacher to reset your password or to contact us for assistance.
