How do I register for a Glogster EDU account?

Registration is safe, private, and user-friendly. Select the plan of your choice on the product information page. After completing the fast and simple registration steps, you will receive an email with your nickname, password, and login link. Please note that emails from Glogster EDU are sometimes redirected to your spam/junk folder.

How many student accounts can be registered?

With an EDUcator Free account, a teacher can manage up to 10 student accounts, but additional students can register and create Glogs using the teacher code found on the dashboard.

EDUcator Premium allows teachers to add up to 125 student accounts. All students may be added during the initial registration, or accounts can be added later to bring the total number of accounts to the maximum amount. After the initial registration, all changes to registration totals will be managed on your EDUcator Dashboard.

An important note* When students register with their teacher code, they will appear on the teacher’s student tab as greyed out, or inactive. The teacher will need to accept the student to their account using the manage inactive student button.

With our School license, up to 2,500 students can be managed. Our district license allows for an unlimited number of students. All students may be added during the initial registration, or accounts can be added later to bring the total number of accounts to the maximum amount. Learn more about EDU Premium.

[Top]

Do students need to have email accounts to register on Glogster EDU?

No. Student safety and privacy are highly valued Glogster EDU and student email addresses are never collected. Students may register using their teacher’s code or teachers can generate student accounts without providing student email addresses. Teachers may generate all registration information and distribute it to their students.

[Top]

Are my students protected from inappropriate content on Glogster EDU?

Yes! With EDUcator Premium, the registering teacher monitors the content and accessibility of all student Glogs. Additionally, students can only communicate with other students in their class, and only via Glog comments. Students cannot send private messages.

[Top]

Can I use the same account on both Glogster EDU and Glogster.com?

No. The platforms are completely separate to meet student security and privacy requirements of districts, schools, and teachers. Glogster EDU provides a safe, secure and controlled setting for teachers and students. If you want to use both EDU and our .COM platform for any reason, you must register separately using different usernames and email addresses.

[Top]

Can students have multiple teachers?

Yes! The School Premium License enables you to house and manage multiple EDUcator accounts together under one administrative umbrella. Students do not need to have multiple accounts for each of their teachers and can easily interact with all the teachers in their virtual school. Learn more about the School Premium License.

With EDUcator Free or a Single Teacher Premium License, students must have separate accounts for each teacher- one teacher cannot access private student content that is created under another teacher’s account.

Where can I find more examples of creative uses of Glogster EDU in the classroom?

Glogpedia is an excellent resource of content Glogs created by our EDUcators and students, and can be “favorited” for easy future viewing from your dashboard. If you have a Premium license, you can view, choose the “ReGlog” - our “save-as” feature to use, or edit for customized instruction. Click here to view Glogpedia.

We work hard to continually provide creative and instructional resources for teachers. Glogs that are private are not visible in Glogpedia. Glogs that teachers save as “Public” are viewable in Glogpedia. Only teachers can set this status, and by doing so agree to add and publish the Glog to all public forums. “Public” Glogs can be accessed by all Glogster EDU visitors whether logged in or not.

I had Educator Premium with 200 accounts, but I extended my license with the new Educator Premium, which has 125 accounts. What happens with the remaining time on my license, and the 75 other accounts I used to have?

To properly address the needs of our users, and to offer new teachers the best value, we have changed the account limit on Educator Premium to 125 accounts. For customers who had 200 accounts in the past, but have renewed with new pricing, a maximum of 125 accounts will now be available to use at any one time. The 75 least active accounts will be deactived, but not erased. To reactivate an account, you must deactivate a currently active account.

If you extended your license with a special price offer before expiration, the remaining time on your previous license will be added to the end of your new license period.

If the limit of 125 active accounts does not suit your current needs, please contact sales@glogster.com, for information on adding students or upgrading your license.

GLOGSTER EDU SCHOOL PREMIUM

I am the School Administrator. How do I invite teachers to my School License?

If you are the School Administrator, at the top right of your account Dashboard you will see ‘School Premium’. Click on this text and your license management page will open. Scroll down a little and you will see invitation boxes in which teachers can be invited by either an existing Glogster EDU account nickname or their email address. Insert their details and then click the ‘Activate Teacher’ link on the right side.

Teachers invited via email* will be able to click on a link in the email to join your School License. If they don't have an account on Glogster EDU, they will be prompted to create one before license activation.

You can also send teachers their activation codes. Provide one activation code to each teacher. Teachers can activate their code by entering the address http://edu.glogster.com/licence/activation into their browser, replacing "activation" with their unique code (for example, http://edu.glogster.com/licence/6534UY5RN8). If they don't have an account on Glogster EDU, they will be prompted to create one before license activation. (Please note that the spelling of licence with a 'c' in this is the British spelling and is correct in this case.)

* Please note that if a teacher’s email address has already been used to create an account then it is not possible to use it again. If you do need to use the same email address then you can either change the email in the account that it is registered in or request that we delete the existing account to release the email address for re-use. You can get in touch with us by clicking on the “Need Help?” button on the right side of your Dashboard.

I am a teacher under a School License. How do I transfer students to my School Administrator so those students can be shared?

All students in the school are automatically available to any teacher who is also a member of the school license to work with. It is not necessary to manually transfer the students to the teachers. To work with their students each teacher should set up classes and assign the students that they will be working with to those classes.

[Top]

I am the School Administrator. After the teachers in my School License transfer their students to me, how do I assign those students to their appropriate teachers?

The school license makes all students available to any teacher who is also a member of the school license. It is not necessary to manually transfer the students to the teachers. To work with their students each teacher should set up classes and assign the students that they will be working with to those classes. Students can be shared without permission from other teachers.

[Top]

I am not the School Administrator. Can I add students?

No. After you accept the School License invitation, you can no longer create student accounts. The School Administrator adds students and assigns them to you.

[Top]

Who manages student accounts (passwords, nicknames, etc.)?

The School Administrator can enable or disable student management to teachers via the School License Administration menu in the green box on their Dashboard. If enabled, teachers can manage shared students (shared students are those who have been transferred to or created by the School Administrator). This includes editing portfolios and profiles, changing passwords and nicknames, and deleting accounts. If disabled, only the School Administrator can perform these functions.

For more information about your School License, please check out our video section or contact us.

[Top]

I'm in the EU. How can I purchase something?

EU purchasing is now available directly through our product shop. Due to EU regulations, when the billing address of the purchases is listed as being within the EU, VAT (Value Added Tax) must be applied. In some cases, the purchaser may have a VATIN (VAT Identification Number) that exempts that purchaser from paying VAT tax. This may be because the purchaser is a non-profit, a government entity, or because it has certain other tax exemptions or write-offs. Please consult your finance person about whether your organization has a VATIN. If you do, please enter the VATIN prior to purchase. If we can verify the VATIN at the time of purchase, then VAT will not be withheld. If we are unable to verify, but you believe your VATIN is valid, please contact us at Sales@glogster.com
