The Hunger Games book and movie raise many issues that are relevant to students today, including the challenge of social class, trust and human connection, the role that the media plays in forming public opinion and political systems, and the possible events that may have led to Panem, the post-apocalyptic world of The Hunger Games.

March 23rd - April 30th
For the Go Green Initiative Earth Day Contest, participants must
create a Glog related to one, two, or all three of the following systems
within their communities: the water system, the food system, and the
energy system. The Glogs must demonstrate how these systems work within
their communities and ways the systems can be greener or more
sustainable. Entries must be submitted by April 30, 2012. Earth Day-themed prizes will be awarded to the students,
classrooms, and schools with the most informative and creative Glogs.

January 24th - February 1st
For the Virtual Poster STAR Event, participants must create a Glog related to one of the following categories: Eat Right, Be Fit, and Make Healthy Choices. Any
nationally affiliated FCCLA chapter may submit an entry. To be
eligible, participants must register for the STAR event and post
complete projects (Glog, project identification page, FCCLA planning
process summary page, and bibliography) on the school/FCCLA chapter
website or wiki.
